A Word From S&G Cleaning: How We’re Cleaning for COVID-19

The COVID-19 coronavirus is spreading, and as it does, families are practicing social distancing and extra hand scrubbing. There’s so much up in the air right now as this situation changes seemingly by the hour.

It’s a lot to process. And we are here to help.

Here at S&G Cleaning Services, we want to put your mind at ease as much as we can and make you aware of the extra precautions we are taking as they relate to COVID-19 and the recommendations from the CDC, so that whether you’ve been a client for years or you’re seeking extra cleaning help in these uncertain times, you know we are doing everything we can.

It is our sincerest hope that you trust when you work with S&G Cleaning Services for your residential and commercial cleaning needs, you and your family have confidence in our ability to clean your space. We use only professional-grade cleaning products that have the strength to attack bacteria and viruses, and we have been using these professional-grade cleaning products for 18 years and counting.

To help protect your workplace and your family and home, we want to share things we are doing that are helping to ensure your safety and that of our cleaning staff.

What We Are Doing

Our goal is always to clean and disinfect your space to the best of our ability, and we want you to be able to trust the work we do. Because of our commitment to cleaning your space, we are keeping our own staff at home when they are sick or present symptoms.

Many of our already-existing practices are designed to protect you from the spread of germs, and we are ramping up those practices now when it matters more than ever.

  • We continue to wipe down our equipment between every home.
  • We will continue to use 100% microfiber to clean your home, which removes 98 percent of bacteria as well as viruses without the need for harsh chemicals.
  • We use fresh towels and mop heads for every home and sanitize them completely each night with additives to our laundry cycles.
  • We also are taking extra hygiene steps as we enter and leave all homes. This includes sanitizing our hands before entering a home or commercial space, wearing gloves throughout the cleaning process, and taking extra disinfecting steps for all critical entry and exit points.

These are things we have always done, and we are doing them now with extreme diligence given the current circumstances.

Now Sanitizing and Disinfecting at Every Cleaning

As we navigate the uncharted waters of this virus, we’ve added additional care steps to each cleaning to provide an extra element of safety and additional peace of mind.

There is evidence that the virus can live on surfaces for several hours, which is why we are taking care to clean surfaces that can spread germs through touch. These surfaces that harbor germs are known as fomites,” and we are taking extra precautions to clean them well.

We are increasing ‘touchpoint’ cleaning completely free of charge to our recurring customers and cleaning high-touch surfaces at every visit. This means that we clean and sanitize all door knobs, light switches, railings, remotes, faucet handles and other surfaces that may harbor germs.

Best Practices to Keep You and Your Family Healthy

We care about all of our clients and want you to stay well. Here are the best practices you can implement with your family and coworkers to prevent the spread of infection and flatten the curve:

  • Stay home when you are sick (and call us to cancel your home cleaning, please!)
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth and encourage family members to do the same.
  • Avoid close contact with people who are sick, and practice social distancing.
  • If you experience coughing, sneezing and fever, seek medical attention to get checked out—and call your doctor first before heading to see them.
  • Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces using a regular household cleaning spray or wipe.
  • Wash your hands frequently with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.
